Each vintage we devote a lot of energy searching for cuvée Camille. The wine comes from a mere 1ha parcel, so finding enough for an offering is always an adventure. Today, I'm happy to offer the 2020 Cuvée Camille in both bottles and magnums.
Camille comes from the Côte du Py vineyard, one of Beaujolais' best and, thanks to Foillard, most famous sites. Lapierre lays bare all of the class that Côte du Py is capable of. It delivers the site's spiced wild cherry signature with captivating detail and vividness.
From the 2020 you can expect a powerful and riper vintage of the wine. This is exactly the sort of vintage where Lapierre excels. These are the wines where an extra dimension of complexity and power meld into the incredible texture of the wine. It delivers a wide spectrum of red fruits, Asian spices, floral notes, and smoky minerals all with outrageous purity and beautiful finesse.
It probably goes without saying that quantities are very limited. There's never enough cuvée Camille to go around. Our advice is not to miss this opportunity.
