2013 Allemand Cornas Reynard

Posted by Ian McFadden

I never thought that I would be able to offer Allemand's 2013 Reynard.

It's a bottle that I hunted aggressively and never turned up more than six or twelve bottles. Today, I'm happy to offer a very modest parcel that I recently landed.

Allemand takes Cornas to a level of expressiveness and finesse that no one can compete with. His 2013 Reynard is a powerful example of this.

2013 in the northern Rhône produced mineral, structured wines with a vibrant core of acidity. Allemand captures the vintage in all of its elegance, harmony, and electric vibrancy. They're absolutely gorgeous wines.

Allemand's 2013s exemplify the incredible amount of fine-ness, detail, and transparency he's able to achieve. Nobody renders Cornas like Allemand, and it's in vintages like 2013 and 2010 where his style is expressed with pitch-perfect clarity. The 2013 is deep, structured, and has beautiful verve and silky tannins.

Allemand is one of the most gifted and thoughtful winemakers we know. This is certainly an offer that I will not be able to recreate. Please be warned that quantities are very limited.
