A Legend Shining Brightly:
2013 Produttori del Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva

Posted by Ian McFadden

Montestefano is one of the great sites of Barbaresco.

It's a wine that soars with tightly coiled finesse. Montestefano is legendary for how it marries elegance, detail and intensity.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise. The 2013 vintage in Piedmont is all about finesse and clarity. It's exactly the sort of vintage where Montestefano shines.

For decades, Produttori del Barbaresco has been the address to know for value-laden, long-aging examples of Nebbiolo. We've had great bottles with over thirty years of age on them.

The 2013 Produttori line-up drives home just how potent the value can be, especially with wines like Montestefano.

The 2013 Piedmont wines deliver an incredible combination of purity, refinement and concentration. The easy comparisons are 2010 and 2008, two of our favorite recent vintages. Simply put, this is a vintage to be excited about and go long on.

Produttori del Barbaresco's 2013 Montestefano Riserva is supremely graceful and has a dazzling brilliance. There's gorgeous lift and vibrancy along with very well delineated floral, spice and mineral notes. The overall impression is one of well-articulated class.

I'm going to wrap this up. Judging by the quick sellout of Produttori's 2013 Rabajà Riserva, word is out on the vintage and Produttori's success. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
