The Dominique Lafon label was created in 2008 to allow Dominique greater freedom than he felt he had at the family domaine, Comtes Lafon. It mainly utilizes 4.5ha of owned or leased vineyards. The wines of the Dominique Lafon label really amplify the stylistic change towards more tension and sleek elegance that can be seen in the Comtes Lafon wines. The wines have a shorter elevage and are largely sourced from cooler, upper sections of the vineyards.
Over the years, the Meursault "Narvaux" is consistently one of our favorites in the lineup. The wine has a precision and sleek verve that wows us.
The 2022 epitomizes what makes the wine stand out in a lineup. There's a radiance and polished minerality that's thrilling. The wine packs so much intensity into a relatively lithe frame and it's delivered with breathtaking agility.
With each vintage, the steady march of quality at Lafon doesn't seem to miss a beat. In fact, you sense an ever-growing level of refinement. It's exciting to witness. We've said it before, but the 2022 Narvaux is another example of one of the masters of white Burgundy at the height of his powers.
