Absolutely Spectacular:
Ulysses Collin Blanc de Blancs Les Roises (2017 Base, 72 months)

Posted by Ian McFadden

Ulysse Collin's Champagnes are attention-grabbing and incredibly compelling. Still, there's something special about Les Roises.

Roises is an explosive and insanely complicated expression of Chardonnay.

Today, I'm very happy to offer the first release of Ulysse Collin's Roises aged 72 months on the lees. The extended lees aging bottles from Collin are simply epic and rare. I feel fortunate to be able to offer this.

Les Roises comes from vines planted in 1949 on clay-rich soils. It works on an incredible scale. What makes it so compelling is how its incredible breadth and depth are married to tension and rigorous detail. The combination is thrilling.

The 2017 Roises 72 months has a stunning mineral-laden texture with an impressive spectrum of flavors—from layers of vibrant citrus and stone fruits to notes of soil, smoke, and slate. It works on so many registers that it seems to hit your senses from every angle.

Before I wrap up, I should warn you that this is an extremely small parcel. It's difficult to know when I'll be able to offer this again. Don't miss this.
