The '98 was a perfect platform to showcase this style. It's a vintage that we love across the Northern Rhône. The 1998 vintage offers plenty of concentration along with a nice acid structure and vivid minerality. With age, the quality of the vintage has only become more apparent.
As you'd suspect, Jamet made some of the most compelling wines of the vintage. Their '98 Côte-Rôtie has an extraordinarily clear expression. There's a punchy minerality with ultra-precise savory notes and bright red fruits.
We love getting our hands on older bottles of Jamet, but it's become increasingly difficult to find the wines. Finding them in any quantity has become seemingly impossible. It's a small parcel, but it feels like a windfall.
