This is a difficult email to write. Bénetière only has 2.5ha, and it's a challenge finding even a few cases. In 2013, things are even uglier. Yields were down and allocations were cut.

The 2013 Côte-Rôties have deeply impressed us. The wines have explosive aromatics and beautiful finesse and energy. Even in this context, Bénetière's Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux is seriously exciting.

2013 was a stunning vintage for Bénetière’s Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux. This is easily the best vintage we've seen since 2010. The level of harmony, balance and structure in the 2013s is striking. Côte-Rôtie is famous for being the most Burgundian expression of Syrah, and Bénetière’s 2013 Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux beautifully captures its incisive minerality and lifted elegance.

In 2013, the Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux delivers its iron minerality, floral notes and savory dark fruit with incredible precision and detail. For all of the wine's depth and density, the presentation is fresh and bright. Josh Raynolds nails the 2013 when he writes it “shows an impressive blend of power and finesse”.
