I've been beating the drum for Bertheau so frequently lately that I'll keep this brief.
Bertheau is making some of the most arrestingly elegant and honest Burgundies around.

The whole lineup is impressive, but there's something special about the Chambolle 1er Cru Charmes. No other wine displays Bertheau's ability to capture Chambolle's gorgeous perfume and heart-breaking delicacy in the same way.
The 2017 Charmes is brilliant. It's laser-focused, bursting with complex aromatics, and has a supremely elegant silken texture. The Charmes is a study in gracefulness.
The responses to our recent Bertheau offers have been intense. Many have had to be severely allocated. At the lowest price around, I don't expect the 2017 1er Cru Charmes to stick around for long.
