Colin-Morey's En Remilly is a very interesting phenomenon. An incredibly wide range of people devote their time to tracking it down.
It includes everyone from blue chip collectors to wine geeks and value seekers.
Even though Colin-Morey has plenty of heavy-hitting sites (Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, etc.), it wouldn't be out of line to say that his St. Aubins, and especially En Remilly, are the domaine's defining wines.
I can't remember a vintage in the past decade that has been met with as much anticipation as 2014. The wines have such clarity and punch that when you taste them, it's obvious that 2014 is an important vintage. The wines are the total package of vibrancy, concentration and refined harmony.
En Remilly has long been singled out as the top 1er Cru of St. Aubin. It delivers a level of refinement and depth that really makes it stand out. Colin-Morey's version is always stunning, but it's particularly dazzling in 2014.
No one manages to combine intensity and purity to a similar degree. The 2014 En Remilly captures this in a dramatic way. It's deep, precise and beautifully crystalline. There's a graceful core of stony minerality, complex citrus notes and ultra-clear floral and stone fruit notes.
Pierre-Yves Colin quickly joined the ranks of Burgundy's top wine producers. Across the board, his wines rapidly disappear from the market, but En Remilly is always one of the first. The value that it offers is unmistakable. It's a safe bet that the 2014 will be gone in a flash.
