Precision and clarity are Fourrier's calling cards.
Jean-Marie Fourrier took over his family's domaine in 1994 after working under Henri Jayer. He wasted no time defining his unique style and catapulting his family's domaine into Burgundy's elite tier.
They are ultra-detailed wines of serious transparency, finessed structures, and whip-smart tension.
Today, I'm happy to offer a range of back-vintages, from Fourrier covering his village wines to Gevrey 1er Clos St. Jacques and Griotte-Chambertin, including magnums of Gevrey 1er Cru Combe aux Moines.Â
Fourrier's village wines are among our favorites. The Aux Echezeaux comes from an old vineyard close to Morey St. Denis and Charmes-Chambertin. This is the more silky and precise of the two village bottlings. The Gevrey VV is more muscular. It offers a combination of straight-up deliciousness with a serious foundation and clarity that is hard to resist.
Fourrier's Gruenchers is a fascinating wine. It combines the aromatics and silky elegance of Chambolle with a bold and piercing earthy minerality. Gruenchers is a wine of muscle and refinement.
Finally, Fourrier's Clos St. Jacques is a legendary bottle. It takes Fourrier's signatures - pristine expression, precise finesse, and an ultra-seductive mineral-laden texture - to a profound level.
As you can imagine, quantities are very limited. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.Â
