If you poked around the cellars of seasoned Burgundy lovers, you'd find Chandon de Briailles rubbing shoulders with the likes of Roumier, Rousseau and Bachelet. John Gilman calls the domaine "among the treasures to be found in the Côte de Beaune.”

Purity, subtlety and elegance are the calling cards of Chandon de Briailles. For many years, their Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets was a standout from their already impressive line-up.
Caillerets and Chandon de Briailles are undoubtedly one of the great marriages of producer and vineyard in Volnay. The profile of Caillerets is one of tension-filled fineness and crystalline elegance. The reflective pebbles that give the site its name also bring a deep mineral character to the wines.
Sadly, 2009 marked the last vintage of Chandon de Briailles' 1er Cru Les Caillerets. The domaine’s lease on the parcel came to an end. It's very likely that this will be the last time we'll be able to offer their Caillerets.
The silver lining? 2008 was a brilliant vintage for the wine. We've loved 2008 Red Burgundies from day one, for their mineral purity, classical style and subtle poise. It's a combination that perfectly suits Chandon de Briailles' soulful, crystal clear expression of this reference point site.
Burgundy values like this are painfully rare. Chandon de Briailles' Caillerets came from a 0.4ha parcel and was always in short supply. The parcel we are offering today is very modest. Were it bigger, I would have offered 4-packs, because this is a smart cellar purchase. I'm expecting a deluge of orders, so I'm going to wrap this up here.
