Dujac's 2010s are astoundingly good.
I felt lucky to land this very modest parcel of Morey villages. Even in the context of Dujac's success in the vintage, the Morey is a standout bottle.
Generally speaking, Dujac's line-up is amazing in how it respects no boundaries. Dujac makes epic Grand Cru red Burgundies, shockingly good whites, and, as today’s offer drives home, village-level wines that box well above their weight class. I can think of few domaines where every bottle seems to transcend expectations by such a wide margin.
Few village wines deliver a similar level of refinement and complexity. It's difficult to find many comparisons. There are breathtaking examples from Mugneret-Gibourg, Fourrier, and Roumier, but that is about it.
The 2010 Red Burgundies are so bright, pure, and transparent. Dujac's 2010 Morey comes across as simultaneously energetic, profoundly deep, and multifaceted. This vintage is a textbook example of wine's ability to carry intensity with poise and finesse.
Before closing, I should warn you that this is a very small parcel. I'm expecting that allocations will be necessary.
