Foillard captures the beauty and delicacy of Fleurie in a way that few others achieve.
Foillard is famous for making some of the greatest examples of Morgon. Still, his much less available Fleurie stands dangerously close to being the Platonic ideal of Fleurie.
In the 2013, the elegance of Fleurie, its florality and lifted, silky profile is laid bare in a lovely way.
This is one of our favorite vintages of Foillard's Fleurie. At this price, it's something that we advise you to stock up on.
We always liked the 2013 Beaujolais, but have been really impressed by how they've developed over time. The 2013s have a snappy, vivid, acid-driven structure and concentration that will allow them to age beautifully. They have a tension and soaring aromatics that we love.
Foillard's 2013 Fleurie is super-fine with a thrilling mineral-tinged energy. The aromatics really pop with violets, strawberry, and plums, mingling with a clear soil expression and minerality. There's loads of finesse and textural allure.
Foillard's Fleurie is sourced from sites of impressive pedigree: the climats of Grille Midi, La Madone and Champagne. The Fleurie is sourced from a mere 2 hectares making this a much more elusive bottling than his legendary Morgon Côte du Py.
Foillard's 2013 Fleurie is an absolutely stunning wine. We've been slowly amassing the wine on offer today. It's safe to say that this is the last time that we'll be able to offer the 2013. We suggest that you jump on this while you can.
