For many of us, Foillard is the master of Morgon. It's that simple.
Foillard's reputation looms so large that when I set out to write about one of his wines I always feel like it's pointless. There's really not much left to say. As such, I'll keep this short.

Foillard's Classique captures beautifully the silky textured, cherry-scented and mineral-tinged style of Morgon that is Foillard's signature. We love it for its drinkability. Foillard's outrageous purity of fruit is on display along with the nimble and bright acidity that makes drinking his wines so dangerously easy to do.
2013 is not a powerful vintage for Beaujolais and we really like it exactly that way. There's a beautiful clarity and energy to the vintage. Both help make for an especially irresistible vintage of Classique.
I'm going to wrap this up. Classique is a wine more about drinking than talking about. To have Foillard at this price and in a really good vintage is something to jump on. It's so delicious and versatile that you'll want it around in quantity.
