This Friday we're going to end the week on a high note.
Dominique Lafon & Olivier Merlin, two of our favorite Burgundy producers, will be pouring at Crush.
This is a very rare opportunity. Burgundy winemakers travel to New York infrequently and when they do, their schedules are booked.
Dominique Lafon is famous for his fanatical grape selection and biodynamic agriculture, and for the way he coaxes the most beautiful expressions of terroir out of each respective site.
Lately, Lafon has been on fire. The wines have a staggering refinement, finesse and purity. We'll be pouring everything from his stunning 2014 Clos de la Baronne to his Beunes Greves.
Olivier Merlin is a pioneer and visionary of the Mâcon in southern Burgundy. He founded the estate in 1987. At the time, the Mâcon was viewed mostly as a source for picnic wines. Merlin turned this notion on its head by pursuing quality in a way that was reserved for Burgundy's most exalted terroirs.
Finally, we'll taste the 2014 Chateau des Quarts Pouilly Fuisse Clos des Quarts. Chateau des Quarts is a joint project between Merlin and Lafon where they are working what may be the greatest site in Pouilly-Fuissé.
We are very excited to host these two great producers of Burgundy. This is a very unique opportunity to taste and spend some time with them.
Please be sure to RSVP to events@crushwineco.com.
