The wine has an astonishing resonance and finesse. Carelles works on an epic scale with an incredible nuance and refinement.

Selosse is revered for his singular winemaking. Apply this philosophy to the lieu-dit wines, and the results are nothing short of magic. They are incredible and unforgettable expressions of Champagne.

In some ways Carelles is a really unusual expression of Mesnil. It has a richness that people don't generally associate with Mesnil - it's as much a sign of Selosse's distinctive style as it is a testament to his ultra-conscientious work in the vineyards.

That's only part of the story. Selosse's parcel in Mesnil is incredibly chalky. For all of the wine's breadth, there's a distinctive chalky minerality and super-refined and precise kinetic energy.

There's no doubt that Carelles is one of the most thought-provoking wines out there. There is an outrageous spectrum and multi-dimensional presentation.
