Last Chance: Brilliance in the Côte des Blancs
2008 Agrapart Mineral Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru

Posted by Ian McFadden

In any vintage, Agrapart’s Minéral is an absolutely brilliant bottle of Champagne.

In 2008, it’s showstopping.

So when we had the opportunity to buy another parcel, it was a no-brainer. We’ve been lucky enough to offer Agrapart’s 2008 Minéral before, and our offers were met with quick sell-outs. It’s very unlikely that this last parcel will stick around for very long.

2008 is possibly the greatest Champagne vintage of the past decade. The wines possess a combination of sleek energy, riveting purity and amazing balance. In 2008, the Minéral flaunts a deep complexity and structure, while remaining incredibly precise, refined and crystal clear.

Minéral is sourced from two prime lieux-dits with 40-year-old vines that are on the hard, white chalk in Avize and Cramant. The cuvée lives up to its name, bursting with a penetrating, chalky minerality. Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart are known for producing fiercely honest, authentic expressions of terroir, and the 2008 Minéral is a gorgeous example of this style.

In 2008, the Minéral boasts striking focus, length and gripping textural presence. There’s impressive cut, tension and a dazzling clarity. It’s a mesmerizing expression of Chardonnay.

Agrapart’s Minéral is one of the most refined wines in all of the Côte des Blancs, and the 2008 is one of the best editions to date. We’re really excited to have the opportunity to offer this wine one last time. Our advice is to stock up, while you can.
