The Lauer reviews have only recently been released, and with the Grand Crus still on order at the estate, we figured this would be the perfect opportunity to go as deep as we could on two of Lauer's top bottlings.

Lauer and the Saar: One Grand Cru dry and one off-dry. If there is a better Lauer two-pack, we haven't seen it. This will be your best chance at securing a parcel of these two Grand Crus at what will prove to be among the best pricing in the U.S.
Stirn and Neuenberg, two of Lauer's most articulate and collected Grand Crus are, in 2025, simply among the best the estate has made.
The scholars of Mosel Fine Wines say as much, explicitly, about the Neuenberg: "Neuenberg is possibly the finest to date and a triumph." Neuenberg in this blockbuster vintage is just dry-tasting, on the razor's edge with only 12 grams; the sugar acts more as a textural component, adding a brilliant dimension to what is, in the end, more of a dry-tasting Riesling.
The magic with the Neuenberg is, as Mosel Fine Wines writes, the tension of a wine that is "superbly light-footed yet intense." This is just a wow wine and one that only Lauer could make.
The Stirn is perhaps Lauer's most famous off-dry Riesling. Sourced from the top of the Grand Cru Kupp, it is a wine with a sculptural and attenuated acidity, one that pulls and shapes the fine layers of fresh fruit, from citrus through stone fruit, as well as a green, minty herbal quality, into a wine with an almost unbelievable length.
The Stirn is always angelic; it does not disappoint in 2025. Mosel Fine Wines sums it up succinctly: "This is a gorgeous expression of off-dry Riesling."
