This is especially the case with the 2013 Côte du Py. The more we taste 2013 Beaujolais, the more its successes stand out as being truly special. Unsurprisingly, Foillard's Côte du Py is one of our favorites of the vintage.
The 2013 offers the finesse, the vividness and the texture that we love about our favorite vintages of Foillard's Côte du Py. 2013 shares the snap and fresh transparency of vintages like 2010 and 2007. It's in these fairly cool vintages that Foillard produces the wines that wow us the most. These vintages carry Côte du Py's wild cherry, mineral, and floral-tinged quality wonderfully well.
We suggest that you go deep on this. Foillard's Côte du Py is one of the wines that I love to have around. It's nimble, food friendly, finessed and has a sense of unmediated purity.
