"Maybe the best I’ve seen yet” -
Ulysse Collin Blanc de Blancs Les Roises Extra Brut (2013 Base)

Ulysse Collin's Champagnes are attention grabbing and incredibly compelling. Still, there's something special about Les Roises.

Roises is an explosive and insanely complicated expression of Chardonnnay.

The 2013 is poised to be one of the most impressive vintages of Les Roises that we've seen. 2013 is a really exciting vintage for Collin, especially when it comes to Chardonnay. Peter Liem quotes Ulysse Collin's Olivier Collin as saying 2013 is a “a great vintage for chardonnay—maybe the best I’ve seen yet.”

Les Roises comes from 60-year-old vines on clay-rich soils. Compared to Collin's other Blanc de Blancs, Les Pierrières, Les Roises is expansive and has a grander scale. What makes it so compelling is how its incredible breadth and depth are married to tension and rigorous detail. The combination is thrilling.

It has a stunning mineral-laden texture with an impressive spectrum of flavors--from layers of vibrant citrus and stone fruits to notes of soil, smoke and slate. Roises works on so many registers that it seems to hit your senses from every angle.

All of our 2013 Collin offers have sold out, and we saw the least quantity of Les Roises. As such, we're expecting this to be gone in a matter of hours. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
