Morgon's Master Revisited
2012 Foillard Morgon Cote du Py

Posted by Joe Salamone

Foillard is a master of Morgon and for us, it's unthinkable not to clear some cellar space each vintage.

When we see a parcel priced like this one, we jump on it.

Côte du Py is simply a wine that we love to have around. Foillard's Côte du Py is nimble, food friendly, finessed and has a sense of unmediated purity.

Above all, this is a wine that we like to drink. It's so gulpable without sacrificing any complexity or fascination.

Our advice is to stock up. As we drink through the Foillard in our cellars, we always kick ourselves for not buying more. The wines really shine with 5-7 years of age.

Foillard's 2012s are some of our absolute favorites and we really love Foillard in cooler vintages. There's vividness, delineation and straight-up joyful drinking that the best of the vintage offers.

Foillard's 2012 Côte du Py possesses the suave textural element that makes his wines so delicious and it's backed by a vibrant wash of minerals, flowers and spice.

There's no doubt that Jean Foillard is one of the most consistent and talented people in all of Beaujolais. Being able to offer this wine at prices like these is something that we rarely get to do.

It's very likely that this offer will sell out in a flash. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
