D'Angerville's Caillerets is a wine I seek out every vintage, but with only 0.7ha in Caillerets it’s always the hardest wine to lock down in quantity. It captures the racy, emphatically mineral side of Volnay with pinpoint precision and refinement.

D'Angerville's 2016 Caillerets is no joke. We have to agree with Burghound when he writes: "While d'Angerville rarely misses, I was particularly taken with the quality I found here; indeed the word classic would aptly describe their 2016s." The 2016 collection is simply stunning and the Caillerets is killer.

The 2016 red Burgundies show an incredible concentration with a cool, mineral-laden profile. D'Angerville's Caillerets is a knockout in 2016. It possesses a stony mineral presence and soaring elegance that makes it a standout vintage for the wine. It emphatically displays what the greatness of Caillerets is all about.

I have a serious soft spot for Caillerets and the 2016 has all the markings of something special. Given its track record for aging, this is a vintage of Caillerets that fans of the wine will want to track for the next couple of decades at least.
