In 2006, Yvon Métras purchased a mere 0.6ha of Moulin-à-Vent near his home. In general, Métras of any kind is very hard to find in quantity. Magnums of his Moulin-à-Vent VV are close to impossible to land in quantity.

Moulin-à-Vent is commonly considered the King of Beaujolais, known for being the longest lived and one of the most complex Crus. Métras' expression of MaV seems to be influenced by Fleurie. There's muscle and a very distinctive MaV iron-tinged minerality, but also a delicate grace.

In 2016, Métras' MaV has an incredible clarity and finesse. There's a really impressive detail and pitch-perfect expression of minerality.

Métras is well known for an extra-dimension of complexity and textural intrigue that makes the wines stand alone. The 2016 MaV possesses a fascinating tension between the vintage's brightness and verve and the meaty textural element.
