Since the 2004 vintage, Le Trame has been one of the two or three expressions of the Chianti region that we hold in the highest regard. It's a wine that dramatizes how great Sangiovese from Chianti Classico can be. It takes purity and soulfulness to the extreme.
Le Trame is a seriously complicated wine and evolves for hours in the glass, seeming to reveal another evocative wrinkle of complexity with each smell and taste. It's hard not to be taken by the harmony and sheer elegance of the wine.
There's no doubt that Boncie's wines hit a high-water mark with the 2021 vintage. With the 2022s, this estate goes from strength to strength.
The 2022 Le Trame dramatizes the power and class that the wine possesses. The added punch and layers of dark fruits give you the impression of the ripe vintage. Still, you get plenty of the finesse that we just spoke of along with a luminous undercurrent of energy and high-tone floral notes. You get a really impressive presentation of honesty, complexity, and purity of terroir.
The 2022 Le Trame is a compelling, multifaceted, and personality-filled bottle. In short, it is the real deal and a bold example of how great Sangiovese can be.
