"Should be on your very short list" -
2014 Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Combottes

“If classically styled ultra pure and understated Chambolle floats your burgundy boat, then the Barthod-Noëllat wines should be on your very short list along with the likes of Roumier, Mugnier and de Vogüé.” –Burghound

It's been a very long time since we've offered Barthod.

People become obsessed with the wines and since Barthod's holdings are so small, the wines disappear quickly.

These are some of the great standard bearers of Chambolle. Few producers are able to capture the village with as much rigor and honesty. The wines have intensity and weightlessness, combined with a subtle complexity that slowly blossoms in the cellar.

At less than a quarter of a hectare, Aux Combottes is Barthod’s smallest holding. There's a lacy delicacy that makes Chambolle one of the most heartbreaking expressions of red Burgundy. Aux Combottes takes these qualities to the extreme - it offers gorgeous aromatics, finesse and grace.

In 2014, Aux Combottes beautifully captures the lift, radiance and brightness of the vintage. There’s a medley of vibrant red fruits, flowers, soil and minerals along with a lovely silken texture. In 2014 the wine flaunts gorgeous freshness and riveting energy.

Before closing, I should mention that this is a modestly size parcel. I expect it to disappear quickly. Please give us your ideal order and we'll do our best.
