Laherte's Empreintes is among the most impressive and eye-opening Champagnes we've tasted this year.
Over the past handful of years, Laherte has emerged as one of the most talented growers in Champagne.
The 2014 Empreintes flaunts a very compelling combination of power and raciness. It delivers a layered complexity of orchard fruits, spices, and floral notes that are presented with a crystalline purity and beautiful core of minerality.
The majority of Laherte's vines are in Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, an area between the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne, that has chalky soil with a thin layer of clay on top. It's hard not to feel that the chalk contributes to Laherte's signature of tension and fineness.
The Empreintes is a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay was planted in 1957 and the Pinot was planted in 1983 on clay with flint and schist.
We created special 3-pack pricing to encourage you to stock up. The 2014 Empreintes is a thrilling Champagne that you'll want to return to again and again.
