Petits Monts is, literally, a stone's throw away from La Romanée and Richebourg.
Drouhin turns out one of the best examples from this great site. Today, I'm happy to offer magnums of Drouhin 2023Â Petits Monts.Â

It delivers the velvety elegance, spice-inflected complexity, and outright class that you'd expect from its neighbors.
Drouhin's Petits Monts is seamless, dripping with refinement, and presented with pitch-perfect harmony. Like Roumier's Cras and Fourrier's CSJ, this is one of those 1er Crus with a rabid following.
Drouhin's plot in Petits Monts is farmed biodynamically and worked by horse and plow, as there's no path for a tractor, and all harvested by hand. VĂ©ronique Drouhin is convinced that the farming has elevated this site.Â
The 2023 Petits Monts is beautifully refined and gorgeously textured. It is utterly pure, possessing a jaw-dropping length and impeccable breeding. This vintage is especially soaring and vivid, and the magnum format only accentuates these qualities.Â
This is a bottle that perfectly sums up why I like Drouhin so much. At their best, Drouhins come across with an unmediated purity that is haunting.
