Drouhin's Clos des Mouches is an expectation-defying wine beloved by Burgundy insiders.
Drouhin's Chambolle 1er Cru offers a pedigree and elegance that may be unrivaled for the price.
Drouhin's Vosne 1er Cru is one of the great values in their vast and formidable lineup.
Chambolle is one of the most beautiful expressions of red Burgundy. For many years, Drouhin's 1er Cru has served as an archetypal Chambolle for me. It's a wine that's simply beguiling.
I love Clos des Mouches Rouges in vintages like 2017. For me, it's vintages like this where the greatness of Clos des Mouches is laid bare. 2017 offers a nearly perfect snapshot of the wine's long-aging and multifaceted personality. It's exactly the sort of vintage that you'll want magnums.
Clos des Mouches is a very important site for Drouhin. This prime mid-slope vineyard was one of the first purchases of Maurice Drouhin when he essentially established domaine bottlings in the 1920s.
On the map, Petits Monts is, literally, a small stone's throw away from La Romanée and Richebourg. Drouhin's Petits Monts is seamless, dripping with class and presented with pitch-perfect harmony.
Clos des Mouches is one of the great gems in Drouhin's stable. It was one of the first sites that Joseph Drouhin bought in the 1920s, situated in a choice mid-slope location.
Drouhin's 2014 Morgeot Marquis de Laguiche is monumental.
There are many who say that the Marquis de Laguiche parcel is the greatest in all of Montrachet. And when it comes to white wine, Montrachet is easily one of the greatest.
Drouhin's Grands-Echézeaux is one of the great unsung wines of Burgundy. For me, there are three great producers of Grands-Ech: DRC, René Engel and Drouhin. Sadly, René Engel passed away in 2005 and prices have skyrocketed. Leaving only two superlative examples of the Grand Cru.
