Jean Foillard is one of Beaujolais' greatest winemakers. And 3.14 is his magnum opus.
3.14 is one of Beaujolais' most legendary and rarest bottles. It has taken a lot of work to put this offer together. The wine is only made in special vintages and is always produced in very small quantities.
Foillard's 3.14 is one of our favorite bottles in all of Beaujolais and since none was produced in 2011 and 2012, we've been anticipating this release for some time.

Côte du Py is known for being one of Beaujolais' great sites. Foillard's 3.14 includes a healthy dose of his oldest vines in Côte du Py. When you taste 3.14 it's clear that only the most beautiful fruit makes the cut. 3.14 debuted in 2003 and it is made only in vintages that Foillard thinks will make a distinctly interesting wine separate from his regular Côte du Py.
We've always loved the 2013 Beaujolais vintage, but we've started to become really, really impressed by it. It stands in contrast to 2014. Whereas 2014 is flamboyant and makes blatantly clear how good it is, 2013 is a quiet vintage, but the best wines are proving how good they are with time. At their best, the 2013s have an acid-driven structure and concentration that will allow them to age beautifully.
The 3.14 shows just how great the vintage can be. It has a beautifully deep minerality, bright floral complexity and Côte du Py's wild cherry fruit. The level of clarity and precision is like nothing else in Beaujolais. A couple of weeks ago, I drank Foillard's 2013 Côte du Py and 3.14 side by side. As good as the regular Côte du Py was, the 3.14 was simply on another level - purer, finer, more structured and more nuanced.
This bottle represents the pinnacle of Beaujolais. There are very few wines from the region that can even compete. As is often the case with wines this unique, there's not much to go around. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
