Lafon's 2020s are no joke. I was very excited to have landed a small parcel of the Genevrières. From release, this has been a brilliant bottle.

The lengthy Burghound quote above captures the wine well. The 2020 Genevrières is powerful, tension-filled, and painstakingly precise.
Along with Perrières and Charmes, Genevrières forms a holy trinity. A quick summary is that Charmes is known for its grandeur, Perrières for its refined, punchy mineral focus, and Genevrières, to some extent, falls in the middle. Many put Genevrières as a close second to Perrières. That's to say that it's one of the greatest expressions of Meursault.
With the exception of Coche-Dury, Genevrières doesn't get any better than Lafon's. The Lafon's bottling is always endowed with incredible harmony, drive, and precision.
The 2020 is absolutely seductive with its laser-like minerality, elegance, and layered notes of flowers, citrus, and spice. It has beautifully clear notes of citrus and spice. Above all, it's defined by the combination of intensity and class.
Lafon is one of my favorite white Burgundy producers. I'm really happy to offer this monument to their work.
