The Sorcerer's Apprentice:
Michel Fallon Ozanne Blanc de Blancs (2018)

Posted by Ian McFadden

Michel Fallon is Jacques Selosse's right-hand man.

As a side project, Fallon makes a tiny amount of wine from his family's vineyard in Avize, Selosse's home turf. Production is somewhere around 1,000 bottles.

These are some of the rarest Champagnes out there.

Fallon's Ozanne offers a stunning purity. There's gorgeous minerality and finesse. As you'd expect from a Selosse disciple, it carries the complexity and nuance of oxidative barrel aging.

We've consistently been impressed by the 2018 Champagnes that we've tasted. The vintage delivered Champagnes with beautiful balance and textures. They are clear and concentrated. The  2018 Ozanne seems poised to be one of the best releases of the wine.

Where Selosse is powerful and deeply textured, Fallon's Ozanne wows with its cut and kinetic energy. The clarity of expression is simply thrilling.

This is only going to a very small group of Champagne fans. We're expecting a quick sellout. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
