At every level, Müller's lineup stands alone. The QbA makes this clear; it transcends the category. The 2019 QbA is a really impressive example of how good Müller can be. It is layered, tense, and brilliantly clear. It has Müller's signature steely finesse with a classy, mineral saturated length.
The Müller family acquired Le Gallais in the 1950s. Wiltinger braune Kupp is a very different site than Scharzhofberg. Where Scharzhofberg is a fairly cool site, even for the Saar, Wiltinger braune Kupp is one of the riper vineyards of the Saar. In short, the two wines work on entirely different registers. Le Gallais 2015s are stunning, and the Auslese is an incredibly complex and balanced example of what they can produce.
