This is a picture-book Mosel Kabinett... It's a Must Buy -2014 Adam Dhroner Hofberg Kabinett

Wherever you turn, you'll hear essentially the same thing: in 2014, Adam produced some of the greatest wines in the Mosel and some of the best wines in the estate's history.

I've been sitting on a bunch of Adam's 2014 Kabinett. It's a wine that's difficult to part with. It's one of the top examples of Kabinett from the vintage and simply stunning in its own right.

Adam started with less than a hectare of land in the off-the-beaten-track village of Dhron and wasted no time becoming one of the Mosel's top talents. By the 2007 vintage, he had blown up.

There's no doubt that Adam's Kabinett was key in putting him on the map. Year after year, it's one of our favorites. However, something special happened in 2014. Adam's style is full and muscular, but in 2014 there's more sleekness and tension, along with explosive aromatics and complexity. There's a featherweight element that's unique to 2014.

The 2014 packs an enormous amount of intensity into a lithe and finessed frame. In this wine, Adam captures the magic of Mosel Kabinett in a way that we've never seen from him before.

There's a long future ahead for Adam's Kabinett, but it's also a really lovely drink for warm months. A smart strategy is to drink a bottle this summer and then (if you can keep your hands off it) hold onto the rest for the next 10-20 years. Regardless, this is one of the great Kabinetts of 2014. Don't miss.
