Utterly Brilliant: 2010 Agrapart Mineral Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru

Posted by Ian McFadden

Agrapart's Mineral lives up to its name, bursting with chalky minerality.

It is one of the most riveting expressions of Chardonnay to be found.

Every time that I drink a bottle of Minéral I'm blown away. It's one of the Champagnes that I return to again and again. The last bottle of 2010 Minéral that I drank was completely stunning.

It was always a deeply impressive Champagne, but the time in the bottle has really allowed the 2010 to flesh out. It's a dramatically intense version of the wine and delivers an incredible purity, detail and tension.

Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart are masters of terroir. Agrapart's are some of the most refined Chardonnays to be found in the Côte des Blancs. For all of their class and impeccable breeding, they also come across as undeniably honest expressions of terroir.

The Minéral is one of the most captivating wines of the line up. It is sourced from two prime lieux-dits with 40-year-old vines that are on the hard, white chalk in Avize and Cramant.

The Côte des Blancs had the biggest success in 2010. The most diligent growers and producers turned out crystalline, energetic and sleekly mineral wines.

The 2010 Minéral has a laser-like focus, incredible elegance and exhilarating tension. The mineral expression is razor sharp and tactile.

Agrapart's wines have become an obsession of ours. Few producers hit this level of fine-ness, precision and elegance. The 2010 Minéral is pure excitement. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
