In 2012, Canonica’s Barolo Paiagallo possesses nuanced complexity with a radiant energy and lifted elegance. In this vintage especially, there's a stunning spectrum of aromatics and detailed notes of herbs, flowers, earth and vibrant red fruits. There's amazing clarity of expression and harmony.
Canonica’s Barolo Paiagallo comes from a mere 1.8ha in the Paiagallo vineyard. Canonica’s methods are super-traditional- minimal sulfur, foot-pressed grapes, indigenous yeasts, and aging in old oak “botte.” Even the labels are applied by hand. All of this results in one of the most authentic and compelling wines in all of Piedmont.
