The Cuvée Camille has quietly become one of our most popular Beaujolais offers.
The reason is that it combines the purity and drinkability of Lapierre's much-loved Morgon with an extra dimension of structure and breeding. All in all, it's very compelling.
Camille comes from the Côte du Py vineyard, one of Beaujolais' best and, thanks to Foillard, most famous sites. Lapierre lays bare all of the class that Côte du Py is capable of. It delivers the site's spiced wild cherry signature with captivating detail and vividness.
The issue is that the Camille is sourced from a lone hectare of vines. Each vintage, we devote a lot of energy to searching for Cuvée Camille.
Lapierre thrives in vintages like 2023. It's an intense, powerful, and layered vintage for their wines. Still, as it always does, the 2023 Camille has a finessed streak of granite-inflected minerality and lifted, bright fruits.
I'll wrap this up. It probably goes without saying that quantities are very limited. There's never enough Cuvée Camille to go around.
