Every vintage, we watch people stock up on Lapierre by the case. There are very few wines that are so loved and so consistently delicious.
With that said, there are vintages of Lapierre that stand out. 2015 is one of them.
2015 joins a small group of vintages, like 2005, 2009 and 2014.
As much as we love Lapierre, these are the vintages that we get excited about. And the ones that we go deep on.
2015 was a riper vintage in Beaujolais. Think of wines that are richer than the 2014s, but fresher than the 2009s. For many, 2015 is positioned to be one of the great Beaujolais vintages.
For us, there may be no producer in Beaujolais who succeeds in ripe vintages like Lapierre. In these vintages, Lapierre picks up more punch and an extra dimension of complexity, but not at the expensive of levity or that granite-inflected minerality that makes drinking Lapierre so lovely. It's worth checking out Neal Martin's notes below. He captures the wine very well.
We created 6-packs, because this is simply a habit forming vintage for Lapierre’s Morgon. Few wines offer such versatility, elegance, and sheer pleasure for the price. The 2015 has the structure and concentration to age gracefully for the medium to long term.

2015 Lapierre Morgon
Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Morgon has a clean and vibrant bouquet with perfumed dark cherries, redcurrant, a touch of gravel and touches of rose petal. The palate is nicely structured, brimming over with energy. The acidity is very well judged, quite sturdy as Morgon should be, no hard edges here but just the background "hum" of tension from start to finish. This is just a superb Morgon from Mathieu and Camille Lapierre."
