It's very likely that the 2005 Clos des Ducs will go down as one of the greatest examples ever. It's an epic wine.
The steep and chalky Clos des Ducs, a monopole of d'Angerville, produces wines of singular intensity and breeding. It has no trouble competing with Grand Crus.
I can't tell you how many times I've been blown away by Clos des Ducs. I've tasted them back to 1920 and the way that they age is simply haunting. Clos des Ducs is one of my favorite wines. Period.
The 2005 vintage in Burgundy is legendary. Without a doubt, it's one for the long haul. No young vintage that I've tasted has even come close to the power, structure and terroir expression.
In 2005, Clos des Ducs delivers in a huge way. It's built like a fortress and possesses shocking delineation, focus and finesse. The length and lift are mind-blowing.
In short, 2005 Ducs is a very special wine. I'm very happy to offer.
