About This Wine

By all accounts, Müller's 2021 Scharzhofberger Auslese is jaw-droppingly amazing. Line up the top wines of the world, toss an Egon Müller in the mix and watch people's eyes light up when the Müller comes around the table.

The wines are simply that good. No wines on earth offer the thrilling contrast between intensity and dancing, intricate delicacy. The wines can haunt you for days.

His upper prädikat wines (Auslese and above) boast a grandness of scale and ultra-refined complexity that places them squarely among the world's great wines. We have no hesitation including these with the best white Burgundies.

There's no doubt that Müller has the magic touch. However, even knowing this, the 2021s are mind-blowing. As usual, the Auslese is one of the absolute high points. Expect all the energy, tension, and detail that make Müller so thrilling with length and racy finesse.

No producer in Germany has the track record that Müller does. The number of mind-blowing bottles that he's supplied us with is simply crazy. All indications point to the 2021 Scharzhofberger Auslese being a legend for decades to come. I'm happy to have an opportunity to offer this again.
