Gonon's style is delicate, precise, and honest. The wines flaunt the elegant side of Saint-Joseph. The 2021 exemplifies the finessed, deeply mineral, and aromatically lifted style. They're simply gorgeous in their nuance, depth, and beautifully detailed length.
Simply put, the amount of gracefulness that Gonon is able to coax from the vintage is extraordinary.
On paper, Saint-Joseph may come in behind Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, and Cornas in terms of prestigious northern Rhône appellations. However, that would never occur to you when tasting Gonon's 2021 Saint-Joseph. This is an incredible success that shouldn't be missed.
