"With exceptional balance, the 2020 is a striking, captivating wine that captures the best the vintage had to offer.” -Antonio Galloni
As we've written recently, Brovia's 2020s are absolutely stunning. Unsurprisingly, Rocche may very well lead the charge.
The Brovia style isn't shy on power, but what makes the wines so impressive is their finesse and nuance. The 2020 vintage dovetails beautifully with their signatures. The collection is seriously powerful, but also elegant and spot on when it comes to balance.
Rocche is a key site for Brovia. Not only does Brovia have a very choice parcel in the vineyard, but it’s their oldest holding and home to their oldest vines. If we were to tally up our favorite bottles of Brovia, ones from Rocche would dominate.
In Rocche, you find a gorgeous balance between the more muscular Barolos of Monforte and Serralunga and the more perfumed examples from La Morra. Rocche leads with beautifully complex floral, red fruit, and spice notes, backed by a firm edge of tannin. Above all, Rocche is about aromatics and elegance.
The 2020 Rocche really highlights the aromatic complexity that the site can achieve. It offers up notes of earth, spice, and floral tones. Everything is delivered with beautiful clarity and harmony.
This wine shows one of Piedmont's elite in top form. This is one of the not-to-miss bottles of vintage.
