Red Burgundy
Comtes Lafon
When Dominique took over the estate in 1985 from his father René, he immediately began to return control of the vineyards to the Lafons from previous shareholder agreements and soon started to convert the vineyards to organic and biodynamic practices. Over the years, Lafon’s style has evolved from a deeper, richer, and more savory one to being laser focused, stony, and bright. Dominique’s legacy continues with his daughter, Léa, and nephew Pierre, who are now managing the estate.
Jura's Wineman:
Jacques Puffeney: 2008-2017
In 2014, Puffeney announced that he would be retiring the following year. The estate was sold to Guillaume d'Angerville's Jura project, Domaine Pelican. Since 2014, Puffeney continued to make tiny quantities of wine for "friends and family" for a few years.
Puffeney is one of the Jura's old guard. His work was so well-respected within the region that he's nicknamed the Pope of Arbois. The wines have a rugged honesty that we love.
For many Americans, Puffeney was the initial face of the Jura. When I tasted my first Jura wine over twenty years ago, it was one of Puffeney's.

In Stock White & Red Burgundy: Bachelet, Colin-Morey, Dauvissat, Lafon, Les Horees, Mugneret-Gibourg, Pillot, Raveneau, Tremblay & More
I'll keep this brief.
The list below includes almost three dozen in stock red and white Burgundies.
The range covers everything from back-vintage Dauvissat Clos to 2010 Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne Rouge, and the cult Burgundies of Les Horées.
I should mention Colin-Morey's brilliant 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot Cuvee Clement et Emma. It's a really extraordinary vintage for the wine.
White Burgundy:
Colin-Morey, Dauvissat, Guffens-Heynen, Lafon, Leflaive, Ramonet, Roulot & More
I had a lot of fun putting this list of nearly four dozen white Burgundies together.
Many of Burgundy's top and most sought-after producers are represented. This includes Colin-Morey, Lafon, Leflaive, Raveneau, and Roulot.
There are also selections from Jacques Carillon, Dureuil-Janthial, Antoine Jobard, and Lamy, along with Valette's beautifully pure and naturally made Pouilly-Fuisse.
