Ultra Cool Climate:
2019 Lauer Riesling "Fass 4"

Lauer is most famous for his wines sourced from the Grand Cru "Kupp" Vineyard, a site equal to any in the Saar or Mosel. Yet, tucked behind Lauer's village of Ayl are two cooler sites, the Scheidterberg and the Rauberg. These are sites that shape wines of shocking electricity.

"What a wine!"
2002 Dom Pérignon Rosé

At this point, it's clear that the 2002 Dom Pérignon Rosé will go down as one of the absolute greats of all time.

2018 Gonon Saint-Joseph

The amount of gracefulness that Gonon is able to coax from the hills of Saint-Joseph is extraordinary.

"Incredible for the price"
2018 Envinate Ribeira Sacra Lousas Vinas de Aldea

Envinate's lineup is full of exciting wines, but the Lousas Vinas de Aldea is an undoubted sweet spot. It's a wine of extreme enjoyment, fascination, and above all, value.

Making Its Own Category:
2015 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Aligoté

"Truly remarkable wine"
2019 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Spätlese #5

This is simply a don't miss vintage for Schaefer. Even judged by their superlative track record over many decades, the 2019s are stunning.

"In a word, terrific"
2016 D'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs

D'Angerville's 2.4-hectare monopole Clos des Ducs is one of Volnay's best sites. This steep, chalky site produces wines of singular intensity and breeding. It has no trouble competing with Grand Crus.

"Incredibly refined yet highly seductive"
2016 Dauvissat Chablis Les Preuses

If Les Clos is all muscle and force, Les Preuses will beguile with its finesse. It's a wine of supreme length and clarity, it is a fine-tuned expression of Chablis.

"Elegant, airy and exceptionally fresh" Revisited
2017 Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin VV

Fourrier's Gevrey is a long-standing favorite.

The combination of straight-up deliciousness with breeding is hard to resist.

The Benchmark Muscadet:
2019 Pepiere Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine Clos des Briords

There's no doubt focusing on the wine's value is myopic. Far beyond its price tag, it needs to be said that Briords has served as a prime example for the heights that Muscadet can reach and how well it can age.

In Top Form:
2017 Carillon Puligny-Montrachet

The 2017 Puligny is a really beautiful vintage for the wine. It is vibrant, finely etched, and supremely elegant. It's very rare that a villages wine has this much class and sophistication.

Rare Sighting Revisited:
2018 Lapierre Morgon Sans Soufre

It's easy to understand. The sans soufre version is a rare sighting. More importantly, it takes the deliciousness of the sulphured version of Lapierre's Morgon to another level.

Unbeatable White Burgundy Value
2017 Thierry Pillot Bourgogne Blanc

Thierry Pillot is one of our favorite white Burgundy producers.

One of the things that I enjoy most about Pillot's wines is the incredible quality that they deliver across the range.

The Other Side of Coche - Lowest Price:
2015 Coche-Dury Monthelie Rouge

Coche-Dury is world-renowned for his epic white Burgundies. Today, we explore a different side of Coche - his stunning work with Pinot Noir. We need to mention right from the start that the 2015 Coche-Dury Monthelie Rouge is very limited.

NY Times says: “There’s more to German wine than Riesling”
2018 Roterfaden Pinot Noir & Lemberger

A stunning, ancient amphitheater may be producing some of Germany’s most elegant reds. And no one knows anything about this place.

"Offers very fine quality for its level"
2017 Tribut Chablis

Tribut made gorgeous 2017s. They have the richness and presence of the vintage with an intense salty, Chablisienne minerality coursing through it.

"A classic Chambolle of lace and grace" - Magnum Edition:
2017 Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Chambolle is one of the most beautiful expressions of red Burgundy. For many years, Drouhin's 1er Cru has served as an archetypal Chambolle for me. It's a wine that's simply beguiling.

"Some of the most viscerally thrilling, breathtaking wines I have ever tasted here, or anywhere"
2017 Montevertine Rosso di Toscano

While Le Pergole Torte is the pinnacle of the estate, the Rosso di Toscano represents incredible value. It's one of the smartest buys that we know and there are vintages where the gap between Pergole Torte and the Montevertine bottling narrows considerably. The 2017 is such a year.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow:
2018 Envinate Benje Blanco

Few wines are hunted down like Envinate. When you taste the wines, the explanation for the excitement becomes clear. They are some of the most beautifully rendered and fascinating wines around.

Chambolle Benchmark:
2017 Barthod Chambolle-Musigny

The wines are in a word: bulletproof. Barthod just doesn't miss, and her Chambolles show a shimmering clarity and heartbreakingly silky elegance that makes them pretty much archetypical examples of the region.

Purity In Chablis Revisited:
2017 Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy

Tribut's 2017s offer an incredible completeness. They have presence and an intense salty, Chablisienne minerality coursing through them.

"Lovely"
2018 Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin VV

Fourrier's Gevrey is a wine that people jump at the chance to buy.

It exists on a special plane amongst villages bottling. It shares this space with few other bottles - Roumier Chambolle, Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée, etc.

Turn Back The Clock Pricing - Long-Haul Beaujolais:
2017 Clos de la Roilette Fleurie Cuvée Tardive

Roilette's Cuvée Tardive is one of Beaujolais' longest lived and most profound wines. There are few bottles of Beaujolais that have the track record for aging, can deliver incredible value, and are as loved as Tardive.

Volnay Distance Runner:
2008 Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans

Catching d'Angerville's Champans in the right vintage is an extraordinary experience.

Last weekend, we offered the amazing 2010 Champans. Today, I'm happy to offer the 2008, another personal favorite vintage of Champans. These are the only bottles available in the country.
