German Elite:
2020 Schäfer-Fröhlich Stromberg Grosses Gewächs

Since its debut vintage in 2012, the Stromberg GG has competed with the Felseneck GG for the honor of Schäfer-Fröhlich's top dry bottling.

Personality To Spare:
2017 Brovia Barolo Brea - Ca'Mia

They are among Barolo's great traditionalists and recent vintages have been showing this estate at the height of its powers.

White Burgundy:
Coche-Dury, Colin-Morey, Dauvissat, Leflaive, Liger-Belair, Raveneau & More

Piedmont Rarity:
2018 Giuseppe Rinaldi Dolcetto d'Alba

The wine world has become obsessed with Rinaldi's soulful, finessed, and old-school style.

A Magical Combination Revisited:
2018 Heitz-Lochardet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières

Heitz-Lochardet's intense, focused and painstakingly refined white Burgundies have gained a serious following.

Unsurprisingly, Heitz-Lochardet's Perrières, along with their Chevalier-Montrachet, leads the charge.

"Terrific" - 2017 Nervi-Conterno Gattinara

This is a special vintage for the basic Gattinara bottling. Conterno did not produce any single-vineyard bottlings. The best grapes went into the Gattinara normale instead. It's clear that this elevated the 2017 to an incredibly high level.

Hitting The Mark Revisited:
2018 Pillot Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois

The Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois is one of the great deals of white Burgundy. The wine has become a pillar of our offerings. You simply don't find many Chardonnays that offer this much for the price.

One of Burgundy's best village wines
2018 Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée

It's easy to fall for Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne. Few wines combine a seductive texture with an ultra-fine and elegant precision.

Cult Northern Rhône:
2019 Gonon Saint Joseph Blanc Les Oliviers

White Rhônes can be a tricky category. The best can be amazing, but for better or worse our tastes are very selective. Gonon's nails the category.

"There is excellent cut, minerality and a sophisticated texture"
2019 Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières

For the last handful of vintages, I've been watching Sauzet with a renewed attentiveness. They've been turning out some beautiful white Burgundies.

The Magic of Egon Müller:
QbA to Auslese

Rhône 1988-2019:
Allemand, Benetière, Chave, Clape, Jamet & More

"Beautifully well-delineated"
2014 D'Angerville Volnay 1er Fremiets

If Clos des Ducs is monumental and Champans offers iron-tinged richness, then Frémiets is the jumpy, nervous, delicate brother.

Classicism in Côte-Rôtie:
2013 Jamet Cote-Rotie

The utterly classic 2013 northern Rhône vintage is one of our favorites of the past couple of decades.

Meursault Benchmark:
2018 Comtes Lafon Meursault Clos de la Barre

When it comes to riper vintages, Lafon's wines are often amazing. Even with high expectations, the 2018s are seriously impressive.

"Like stepping back into Piedmont's past"
2017 Serafino Rivella Barbaresco Montestefano

They are wines of incredible breeding and finesse while seeming devoid of artifice. Antonio Galloni has written: "Tasting Teobaldo and Maria Rivella's wines is like stepping back into Piedmont's past."  That sums up the wines very well.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow:
2019 Envinate Ribeira Sacra Lousas Vinas de Aldea

For us, it is one of the sweet spots of Envinate’s impressive line-up. It delivers an incredible amount of precision and textural appeal for the price.

Cult Northern Rhône Revisited:
2019 Gonon Saint-Joseph

On paper, Saint-Joseph may come in behind Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, and Cornas in terms of prestigious northern Rhône appellations. However, Gonon's work majorly upsets these neat categories.

"Nicely Delineated"
2017 Bernard Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet

Moreau's wines are explosive, rigorously sculpted, and above all, pure. I'm always taken by their pristine high-toned gracefulness.

Class and Brilliance:
2004 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne

The Côte des Blancs was the star of the 2004 vintage: the wines have an ultra-clear, super-fine chalky minerality and a gorgeous rigor - exactly what I look for in Champagne. The 2004 Comtes de Champagne exemplifies these qualities.

Large Formats!
Allemand, Dauvissat, Juge, Lafarge, Muller, Roumier & More

Sub-$25 2019 Red Burgundy Revisited:
Trousselle Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune En Cre

Since discovering the wines last year, Trousselle has been our go-to producer for everyday Burgundy. The quality that he turns out for the price is beyond astonishing.

Utter Brilliance - Revisited:
2020 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Spätlese

It's hard not to be in awe of Egon Müller. From his Scharzhofberg vineyard, Müller crafts the most consistently magical Rieslings on the planet.

"Thierry Pillot is a top flight talent."
2018 Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet

Pillot's 2018s are impressive. They possess shocking tension and a brilliant minerality.
