On Another Plane: 2014 Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin VV

The perennial theme with Fourrier is pristine expression, precise finesse and an ultra-seductive mineral-laden texture. In 2014, this shines through brilliantly.

Hidden Gem of Gevrey:
2014 Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin Champ Lieu-Dit

"This is really quite good and worth checking out." - Burghound Lately there's been a lot of excitement surrounding Duroché and for good reason. The wines are startling in their elegance, finesse and value.

It's rare to see this level of quality...
2010 Bachelet Côte de Nuits - Villages

We first offered Bachelet’s 2010 Côte de Nuits Villages back in 2012, and it was one of the best versions of the wine I had tasted. So when another small parcel became available, I jumped on it.

A Stone's Throw from Richebourg:
2013 Drouhin Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts

On the map, Petits Monts is, literally, a small stone's throw away from La Romanée and Richebourg. This is a wine that I always buy when I see a decently priced parcel. This particular parcel is really well priced, and that only sweetens things.

Profoundly Graceful: 2014 Bertheau Bonnes Mares

Bertheau's parcel in Bonnes Mares is a mere .34ha. This is a rare bottle and that fact is all the more painful because it's a wine that I love. Currently, you can only find Bertheau's 2014 Bonnes Mares at two other places.

Stunning Chambolle within Reach:
2014 Hudelot-Noëllat Chambolle-Musigny

Hudelot-Noëllat has quickly evolved into one of the most exciting domaines in Burgundy. And somehow, pricing still hasn't caught up.

Jewel-Like: 2014 Drouhin Grands-Echézeaux

Drouhin's Grands-Echézeaux is one of the great unsung wines of Burgundy. For me, there are three great producers of Grands-Ech: DRC, René Engel and Drouhin. Sadly, René Engel passed away in 2005 and prices have skyrocketed. Leaving only two superlative examples of the Grand Cru.

Raw Power, Radiant Energy:
Lowest Price - 2014 Chevillon Nuits-St-George 1er Cru Les Vaucrains

We love everything from Chevillon, but the 1er Cru Vaucrains is one of the gems. Vaucrains' 80-year-old vines produce powerful, incredibly deep, mineral and savage wines. Yet, for all of its intensity, Chevillon's is marked by a clarity and precision that only the best Burgundies achieve.

Burgundy Without Artifice:
2014 Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Charmes

Last week, we offered Bertheau's 2014 Chambolle. That night, I was searching for additional bottles to fulfill all the orders that we received. This made me very happy. Bertheau's are the Burgundies that I'm most fond of. They are archetypes of just how graceful and pure Burgundy can be.

This is a wine for the darkest part of the cellar
2010 Dujac Charmes-Chambertin

I've been sitting on this parcel of 2010 Charmes-Chambertin for a while. Even when you factor in how great 2010 was in Burgundy, what Dujac turned out is extraordinary. Out of the entire line-up, the Charmes was likely the most eye-opening for me.

2014 Chezeaux (Ponsot) Chambolle-Musigny
1er Cru Charmes

Two weeks ago, offered Chezeaux's Giotte-Chambertin. It was gone in a matter of hours. We knew that word was out on these special bottlings, but the quick sell out and brutal allocating caught us off-guard.

A Secret No Longer:
2014 Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griotte-Chambertin

In the past handful of years, Chezeaux's Griotte bottling has gone from an insider's secret to being blown up. There's no doubt Chezeaux's Griotte is a very exciting discovery. It's made by Laurent Ponsot, one of the absolute elites of Burgundy. The exciting part is that the Chezeaux label can be had for significantly less money.

Beguiling - 2013 Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin VV

Bachelet's Charmes-Chambertin is among the rarest treasures of Burgundy. Bachelet has 0.44ha of nearly 100 year-old vines in Charmes. For us, there's no better example of the Grand Cru than this.

Loire Rarity in a Stunning Vintage:
2014 Pascal Cotat Sancerre Rosé

No Rosé on earth ages the way that Pascal Cotat's does. Without question, it's one of the most serious and collected rosés around. This all adds up to it being in short supply. Allocations are typically a case or two.

Mugneret-Gibourg Two-Ways:
2013 Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée
& Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots

Every vintage, I search high and low for Mugneret-Gibourg. These days amassing enough for an offer seems like a full-time job. Today, to a very small group of Burgundy fanatics, I'm happy to offer Mugneret-Gibourg's 2013 Vosne and NSG Chaignots.

Loire Rarity: 2014 Pascal Cotat Sancerre Rosé

Pascal Cotat's rosé is something that we're always searching for. Many of you reading this will immediately understand why. It's one of the best and most ageworthy rosés on the planet.

Absolutely stunning in every respect - 2013 Ponsot Clos de la Roche VV Magnums

Clos de la Roche is far and away the flagship of Ponsot. It's his magnum opus. In any vintage, Ponsot's Clos de la Roche is one of the great wines of the world.

The Master shows them how once again!
2004 Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chenes

"The Master shows them how once again!" —Clive Coates Clive Coates said it right. Some of you may be surprised that he's talking about the '04 Chênes. No one would say this was an easy vintage for Burgundy.

Lovely stuff - 2004 Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos du Chateau des Ducs

There are times when I can imagine drinking nothing besides Lafarge. That speaks volumes about their consistency, soulfulness and age-worthiness. Every vintage, Lafarge seems to find a way to shock and surprise. When you taste his '03s, this becomes clear. He produced incredibly and uniquely successful wines in this brutally hot and difficult vintage.

I particularly like the sense of harmony and balance. - 2012 Chezeaux (Ponsot) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Charmes

For many years, we've been fond of offering one of Burgundy's great secrets - Chezeaux's Griotte bottling made by Laurent Ponsot. Today, another great Chezeaux bottling made by Ponsot - the Chambolle Charmes.

At The Top Of His Game:
1999 Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griottes-Chambertin

Whenever I can get my hands on Chezeaux's Griotte (made by Laurent Ponsot), I get really excited. We're fond of introducing this wine as one of Burgundy's great secrets. There's pretty much no better way to sum it up.

Dujac Bourgogne Blanc - Morey St. Denis - MSD 1er Cru Les Monts Luisants Blanc

A few weeks ago, I was absolutely shocked by a bottle of 2006 Dujac Luisants Blanc. It was one of the greatest '06 White Burgs that I've tasted. As usually happens, that bottle sent me on a tasting (and buying) frenzy. My biggest takeaway was that I'd neglected Dujac's whites for far too long. These should not be slept on.

1999, 2002 & 2005 Lafarge Beaune-Greves

These are the only bottles from these vintages available in the country. There's no better way to underscore how rare it is to be able to offer Lafarge with age than this. The quantities are very modest and this is only going out to a select group of Lafarge fans.

2008 & 2011 Lafarge Volnay 1er Crus:
Clos de Château des Ducs & Clos des Chênes

I've always loved Lafarge's wines, but over the past couple of years I've grown obsessed with them. When you drink old bottles of Lafarge, it really cements how profound, soulful and fine they are. They offer some of the most compelling and singular Burgundy experiences that I know.
