"Very fine" - Hitting The Bull's Eye:
2017 Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin Le Clos

Pierre Duroché has quickly become one of Gevrey’s most exciting winemakers. When it comes to purity of expression and coaxing an intricate and subtle complexity from Gevrey, it's clear that Duroché has the touch.

A Legend In Top Form: 2017 Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains

Vaucrains is undisputedly one of Nuits St. Georges' greatest sites. In Gouges hands, amazing things happen to this mineral and sauvage site. There are seemingly countless examples of Gouges' Vaucrains that have aged brilliantly.

Weightless Intensity - Don't Miss Cult Pinot:
2017 Enderle & Moll Pinot Noir Liaison

If your idea of great Pinot Noir is transparency and weightless complexity, then Enderle & Moll's Pinot Noir Liaison is the best buy we know of.

"Silky, dense and concentrated" - 2016 Lambrays Clos des Lambrays

2016 is an epic vintage for Clos des Lambrays. It's clear that Clos des Lambrays is at the top of their game, and seeing Lambrays hitting on all eight cylinders is really exciting.

Rubbing Shoulders With La Tache:
2014 De Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts Magnums

Malconsorts is hallowed ground. It's one of the 1er Crus that has no trouble going head-to-head with Grand Crus. The proximity of Malconsorts to La Tâche is more than geographic. Malconsorts has this incredible brooding richness married to ethereal aromatics that is reminiscent of the great monopole.

"I found the quality here to be outstanding." -
2016 Drouhin Chambertin Clos de Beze

Drouhin's Clos de Bèze is special wine. One of the best bottles of Burgundy I've ever had was a '71 Drouhin Clos de Bèze.

The Noble and The Savage
2007 Gouges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les St-Georges

Les St-Georges is the prize of Gouges’ stable. If Nuits St. Georges had a Grand Cru, it would be Les St- Georges. It's the most complete, complex and aristocratic of the Nuits 1er Crus.

"I found the quality here to be outstanding." - Only Bottles in the U.S.
2016 Drouhin Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru

Drouhin produced dazzling 2016s. The Vosne 1er Cru is almost certainly where the greatest value is at. You don't have to look any further than the formidable sites to have a clear picture of what makes the Vosne 1er Cru special.

Hitting The Bull's-Eye
2015 Lafon Meursault Clos de la Baronne

Lafon has been one of the benchmarks of Meursault for many decades. Recently, it's been very exciting to watch the wines take a stylistic turn, slimming down to an almost laser-like expression and even greater refinement.

Without Peer
Selosse Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos NV

Selosse is revered for his singular, often mind-blowing Champagnes. His lieux-dits are nothing short of magical. They take the ridiculous resonance, the breadth of complexity and the finesse that are Selosse's calling cards to the extreme.

Red Burgundy
1998-2015: Fourrier,
Lafarge, Mugneret-Gibourg, Roumier & More

Today, I dug deep into our red Burgundy inventory and unearthed some rarities. Below you'll find everything from Fourrier Griotte to 2005 d'Angerville Champans.

Volnay Rarity
2005 Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru

Lafarge is one of our favorite producers. Snagging this parcel of 2005 1er Cru is one of my best scores of the year. Lafarge's wines have delineation, fine-ness, purity and an understated grace that borders on magical.

Burgundy Byroads - Don't Miss
2016 Joblot Givry 1er Cru L'Empreinte

The vineyards of Givry are situated within a spectacular amphitheater. When you look at the best sites, it obvious that serious wine can be made here.

Bachelet Go-To:
2014 Bachelet Côte de Nuits - Villages

There's not much to say about Bachelet's Côte de Nuits. For over a decade, this has been a go-to wine for me.

Singular German Pinot - Extreme Weightlessness: 2016 Enderle & Moll “Liaison”

Enderle & Moll obviously have the touch with Pinot Noir. Few, if any, producers in Germany render the grape with as much fascination and light-on-its-feet elegance.

Turn Back The Clock Red Burgundy
2008 Chapelle Santenay 1er Cru Gravières

This is old-school styled Burgundy at old-school prices. It's difficult to underscore how much of a rarity things like this are today.

"Terrific Delineation" -Burghound
2014 Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds

We don't get to offer d'Angerville's Taillepieds very often. It's one of his wines that tends to disappear quickly from the market. D'Angerville's holdings in Taillepieds are half that of Ducs and a quarter of Champans.

Pinot Esoterica - Red, Still Champagne
2014 Pascal Côteau Champenois Rouge Confiance

In a given year, Franck Pascal produces around 1,000 bottles of his Côteau Champenois. The availability of the 2014 underscores how rarely seen this bottle is. It can only be found at three other places in the U.S.

Red Burgundy At Its Most Heartfelt
2012 Bize Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Fournaux

Simon Bize produces some of the most authentic, mindful, and too often overlooked wines we know. When it comes to soulful and ageable Red Burgundy, there are few wines as compelling and as fairly priced as Bize's.

The Perennial Overachiever:
2014 & 2015 Bachelet Bourgogne Rouge

Bachelet's Bourgogne Rouge is an integral part of our offerings. Bachelet is one of those growers whose mastery is felt from top to bottom. Their Bourgogne Rouge is something that many of us buy in quantity every year and stash away.

Back-Vintage Burgundy: Classicism and Value
2006 Gouges NSG 1er Cru Vaucrains &
2006 d'Angerville 1er Cru Fremiets

Well past a decade into their maturity, the 2006 red Burgundies stand out for their earthy, structured classicism. And their value. Today, I'm very happy to offer two wines that really drive home how much the vintage has to offer: Gouges Vaucrains and d'Angerville's Fremiets.

"This is first-rate"
-Burghound 2015 Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin

Bachelet's Gevrey exists on its own plane. On paper, it's a villages wine. In reality, it radically transcends the category.

"Lovely" - 2015 Bachelet Côte de Nuits - Villages

Bachelet’s top-to-bottom quality is staggering. You can taste at any level, from the Aligoté to his epic Charmes-Chambertin and be thoroughly impressed.

Back Up The Truck
Red Burgundy Edition:
2014 Chevillon Bourgogne Rouge

Bourgogne Rouge is one of Burgundy's most humble categories. Still, there's a very select group that are hunted down with the same fervor as the Grand Crus. Chevillon's is one of them.
