Without Peer - A Celebration of Müller's Kabinett:
From Bottles to 6-Liters

We're obsessed with Egon Müller's Kabinett. The way that it manages intensity without weight makes it utterly and uniquely compelling. Catching a bottle of Müller's Kabinett in the zone is one of our favorite wine experiences.

Eye-Opening Burgundy - Refinement and Value:
2017 Fornerol Côte de Nuits Rouge

It's rare for Burgundies to nail the combination of deliciousness, rigor, and affordability like Fornerol's Côte de Nuits Villages does. The wines are simply shocking in this regard. This is one of the more eye-opening and irresistible everyday Burgundies that I've tasted.

The Singular Beauty of Stella di Campalto:
2015 Rosso di Montalcino & 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The wines of Stella di Campalto are some of the most singular expressions of Montalcino. They are studies in elegance and grace. Stella di Campalto's wines pull off a feat that no other wines in Montalcino pull off in the same way. They have an ethereal quality that couples so beautifully, if unexpectedly, with intensity and verve.

Red Burgundy 1996-2018:
D'Angerville, Fourrier, Lafarge, Mugneret-Gibourg, Roumier, Rousseau & More

It's been a couple of months since I've put together a long list of red Burgundy. I'm very happy to return to it today with a long list of recent purchases and a wide cast of favorites.

Burgundy Royalty - Revisited: 2017 Maison Leroy Bourgogne Blanc

The wines of Lalou Bize-Leroy respect no boundaries. Wherever you turn, the wines leave you astonished.

Morgon's Master In Fleurie: 2018 Foillard Fleurie

Foillard is famous for making some of the greatest examples of Morgon. Still, his much less available Fleurie stands dangerously close to being the Platonic ideal of Fleurie.

"Sleek, intense and well-detailed”
- 2016 Berthaut-Gerbet Vosne-Romanée

Since her first vintage in 2013, Amélie Berthaut has been making waves in Burgundy. At just 25 years old, Amélie started creating a lot of buzz when she took over her family’s domaine and released a line of top-quality wines from the forgotten village of Fixin. The wines were so compelling that everyone seemed to take notice.

"The 2017 collection by Willi Schaefer is awe-inspiring and possibly the finest ever"
- 2017 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Spätlese #10

Time has only reinforced the quote from Mosel Fine Wines above. Schaefer has been on a tear in recent years. Even in this context, the 2017s seem special. We recently opened a bottle of the Domprobst Spätlese #10, and it was stunning.

"One of Champagne's most dynamic young growers” - Savart L'Ouverture & L'Accomplie Brut NV

"There is little doubt Fred Savart is one of Champagne's most dynamic young growers.” -Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media The champagnes of Fred Savart have steadily become some of our favorites.

Hitting The Bullseye - 2017 Simon Bize Savigny-les-Beaune:
1er Cru Aux Guettes, 1er Cru Les Fournaux, & 1er Cru Aux Vergelesses

If you’re after red Burgundies with stony cores, finesse, and just the right amount of wildness, then this is an essential address to know. Simon Bize makes red Burgundy exactly as we like it.

Côte-Rôtie In Full Glory - Rare Magnums:
2016 Jamet Côte-Rôtie Magnums

The heights that Jamet's Côte-Rôties reach have few peers in the entire northern Rhône. Jamet hits a level of gracefulness and agility that is reminiscent of Burgundy. This is Côte-Rôtie in full glory, flaunting a poised and detailed expression of minerals, herbs, spice, savory elements, and florality. The aromatics simply soar.

Loire Rarity For The Ages - Revisited:
2018 Pascal Cotat Chavignol Rosé

Pascal Cotat's Rosé is one of the most ageworthy and compelling rosés in existence. You'll find Pascal Cotat's rosé in the cellars of collectors, and they treat it as a serious wine. It's a wine that is in many ways without peer.

Volnay Distance Runner - Bookend Vintages:
2013 & 2015 D'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans

Volnay is one of the more feminine and velvety expressions of Burgundy. With that said, the magic of Champans is the way it combines muscle and density with a gorgeous finesse. Today, I'm excited to celebrate d'Angerville's work in Champans with two radically different vintages.

"This is lovely and a classic example" - Revisited:
2017 Heitz-Lochardet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières

It's been fun to watch Heitz-Lochardet start to really take off. It seems like everyone I give a bottle to comes back wanting a half-dozen more.

Barolo "Grand Cru" - 1999 Oddero Barolo Vigna Rionda

Vigna Rionda is one of Barolo's great sites. Rionda is a well exposed, limestone-rich vineyard that has the potential to deliver epic Barolos.

The Chambolle of the Loire:
2018 Roches Neuves Saumur-Champigny Clos de l'Echelier

Clos de l'Echelier is a very special expression of Cabernet Franc, and the 2018 vintage elevated the wine to a stunning level. Roches Neuves's 2018s are formidable. The entire lineup is powerful, deep, and sculpted with nice precision and levity. There's impressive terroir imprint amid all the power.

2017 Keller Abtserde GG

Few wines are hunted down as aggressively or are harder to find than Keller's Abtserde. Keller's Abtserde has become a ghost wine. Today's offer underscores this fact. There are no other listings for Keller's 2017 Abtserde in the U.S.

2016 & 2017 Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy

I'll make this quick. Anytime that we offer Tribut, we brace ourselves for a quick sell out. Tribut's wines have long been aggressively hunted down by those in the know. If they haven't quite achieved the status that they deserve, it's because they tend to disappear from the market.

Back-Vintage, Old-School California:
Ravenswood Zinfandel - 1996 Dickerson & 1997 Cooke

It's rare that we get our hands on library releases of classic California wines. Today, we're very happy to present a small parcel of Ravenswood Zinfandels, sourced directly from the winemaker's, Joel Peterson, library.

Untamed Côte Rôtie - Magnum Edition:
2017 Levet Côte Rôtie La Chavaroche Magnums

Levet's Chavaroche is one of the most unyieldingly traditional and fascinating wines currently being made in the northern Rhône. Neal Rosenthal, Levet's importer, aptly sums up the wines: "If you want the truest of Côte-Rôties...if you admire both the intellectual and the savage, then this is a must-buy wine."

Bérèche At The Extreme - Lowest Price:
2012 Bereche Le Cran Extra Brut

Bérèche's Le Cran is an utterly singular and compelling Champagne. In 2012, Le Cran really kicks into high gear. Bérèche is one of our favorite producers in all of Champagne.

The Master of Morgon: 2018 Foillard Morgon Côte du Py

We'll keep this email short. Foillard is one of the legends of Beaujolais. Côte du Py is one of the iconic and great vineyards of Beaujolais. The site finds its ultimate expression in Foillard's hands.

On Jouan and Deliciousness:
2017 Jouan Coteaux Bourguignons

Last week, we celebrated Jouan's dazzling 2017s with an offer on his Morey Clos Sorbé. Today, we trade the profundity of the Clos Sorbé for the sheer deliciousness of the Coteaux Bourguignons. In any vintage, Jouan's Coteaux Bourguignons is a wine that the staff drinks by the caseful. It's hard to argue with its liveliness and irresistible texture... And of course, it's value.

The Southern Aristocrat - Legend In The Making:
2016 Château Simone Palette Blanc

Château Simone's Blanc is one of the great unsung wines of France. Along with the legendary 2008, Simone's 2016 Blanc seems poised to be one of the greats. In early March, we opened a bottle for the staff to taste blind, and everyone was blown away by it.
