"This is just about as majestic as Barbera gets"
2013 Giacomo Conterno Barbera Francia

Like everything from Conterno, his Barbera Francia is a special wine. Roberto Conterno is one of the world's great winemakers. Whether it's his Cerretta or his Francia, his work with Barbera basically redefines the category.

"In a word, terrific" - 2016 D'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs

"While d'Angerville rarely misses, I was particularly taken with the quality I found here; indeed the word classic would aptly describe their 2016s." We have to agree with Burghound. This is simply a stunning collection of wines.

Hermitage Greatness Meets Value:
2015 Chave Hermitage Farconnet

For the ultimate combination of prestige and value, we turn to Chave’s Hermitage Farconnet. Chave’s regular Hermitage bottling is one of the greatest wines from the northern Rhone and currently sells for hundreds of dollars per bottle. The Hermitage Farconnet, which is part of Chave’s negociant label, maintains every bit of Chave’s exacting standards but costs just a fraction of the price.

"Tremendous depth and pure class” - Revisited:
2008 Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé

Clos des Goisses is widely considered one of the greatest vineyards in Champagne. It's been produced since 1935. The terroir is so extraordinary that it rarely missed a vintage over the years. In 1999, the first rosé was released from Clos des Goisses. It immediately became one of the region's most sought after wines.

Jean-François Ganevat:
From Cremant to Macvin & Much More

This may very well be the most extensive Ganevat offering we've done. It covers everything from his seldom seen sparkling wine to his sweet Sul Q, hitting nearly all of his most important wines and throwing a few obscure ones in as well. There is also a healthy amount of large formats.

"Deserving of a place in any conscientiously-stocked Burgundy collection"
- 2017 Roumier Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière 750s & Magnums

Roumier's 2017s are beautiful. I've been buying every bottle that I can find and sending offers whenever the opportunity presents itself. The vintage has such purity and fineness that it captures much of what I love about Roumier. In the 2017 vintage, you get an absolutely gorgeous Bussière. It possesses a vivid transparency with killer length and a firm mineral core.

Beaujolais Distance Runner - Top Vintage:
2017 Roilette Fleurie Griffe du Marquis

Roilette's Griffe du Marquis made its debut in the ripe 2009, and in its first release, it was a star of the vintage. In 2017, another ripe vintage, it's also a top wine.

Making Its Own Category - Lowest Price:
2015 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Aligoté

Coche-Dury exists on its own plane. It seems like Burgundy's hierarchies based on centuries of accumulated wisdom are suspended when it comes to Coche.

"One of the all-time greats" - 1999 Jamet Côte-Rôtie

I'll keep this brief. Jamet's 1999 Côte-Rôtie is legendary, and this is a very small parcel.

“Perfect in Proportion” - Cool-Climate, Calm and Collected: 2019 Lauer “Senior”

“Sourced from 70+-year-old, ungrafted vines in one of Florian’s coolest Grand Cru parcels, Lauer’s ‘Senior’ is simply one of the great dry Rieslings of Germany.” We wrote the above line in last year’s “Senior” offering, and we believe it now more than ever: This is, without question, one of the greatest values in white wine - Grand Cru in everything but price.

Gracefulness to the Extreme Revisited:
2017 Jouan Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé

Jouan's Clos Sorbé gets to the magic of the domaine like no other wine in the incredibly strong lineup does. Simply put, for us, Clos Sorbé is the star.

Cotat Rarity - Very Limited:
2018 François Cotat VdF Rouge

This is one of the most mysterious, hardest to find wines around. We spent years searching for François Cotat's Rouge. After many years and lots of effort, we ended up with just a few cases.

Like No Other: 2018 Tempier Bandol Rosé

Simply put, Tempier's Bandol Rosé is special. Few rosés combine deliciousness and seriousness the way that Tempier's does. It's a wine that's seemingly loved by everyone and plays many roles for many different people.

"This is a candidate for an eternal wine."
- 1993 Macle Château-Chalon

Château Chalon is the Grand Cru of Vin Jaune. It's here that Vin Jaune reaches the pinnacle of refinement and age-worthiness. Curnonsky, a famous 20th Century Parisian gourmet known as the "Prince of Gastronomes," included the wines of Château Chalon among "the five great white wines of France," along with Montrachet and Yquem.

A Tale Of Two Gevreys -Terrroir and Value in Burgundy:
2017 Jouan Gevrey-Chambertin "Aux Echezeaux" & 2017 Duroche Gevrey-Chambertin "Champ"

A couple of weeks ago, we offered an extensive listing of our inventory from Gevrey-Chambertin. I pulled these two wines out for their own stand-alone offer. They deserve their moment in the spotlight. The reasons are both simple and somewhat complicated in the sort of fascinating way that makes Burgundy so great.

"Snappy, delicious, complex and focused" - Lowest Price:
2017 Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon

Leflaive's 2017s are more than worthy successors to their amazing 2014s. For many years, Leflaive has resided at the very highest level of white Burgundy. Right there with Coche-Dury, Lafon, Roulot, and Ramonet.

On Ancient Vines - A Northern Rhône Surprise:
2016 & 2017 Gilles Les Peyrouses

Guillaume Gilles worked at Chave and Robert Michel, two of the greats in the northern Rhône. Thierry Allemand admires Gilles vineyard work calling it among the best of the appellation. A compliment from Allemand is no small thing.

Cult Loire - Rare:
2016 Bernaudeau Vin de France Les Onglés

Bernaudeau's wines are some of the purest and most energetic expressions of Chenin that you'll find. They became cult wines almost overnight. When you taste, the swiftness with which they became some of the most sought after wines in the Loire makes sense. The wines simply dazzle.

Ancient Madeira:
D'Oliveiras 1850 Verdelho Reserva & 1875 Sercial Reserva

D'Oliveiras has long been a standard-bearer, and they've supplied me with my greatest Madeira experiences. There is absolutely no doubt that this is the address for superlative old stocks.

One-Time Chance: 2018 Enderle & Moll Grand Crus

These are the Pinot Noirs that have made Enderle & Moll famous: perfumed, concise, wild, and stunning transparency. For us, Enderle & Moll are making some of the greatest Pinot Noirs in Germany. It’s that simple.

Montevertine Pergole Torte: 2001-2016

"Le Pergole Torte isn’t a great Tuscan or Italian wine. It is simply one of the world’s elite wines." -Antonio Galloni Pergole Torte is about nuance, elegance, and incisiveness. Simply put, it's a wine that we never tire of.

0.80ha: Go-To White Burgundy:
2017 Fornerol Côte de Nuits Villages Blanc

If you asked Crush's staff what their favorite affordable white Burgundy is, Fornerol's Côte de Nuits Villages Blanc would be mentioned again and again. It's rare for Burgundies to nail the combination of deliciousness, rigor, and affordability like Fornerol's Côte de Nuits Villages does. This is a wine that has it all.

"Check Out Oddero" - Hitting Another Level, Again:
2015 Oddero Barolo Villero

Buying Oddero's 2015 Villero didn't require more than a moment's thought. It's among our favorite wines from the vintage, and when you factor in price and quality, there's no competition.

A Magical Combination: 2013 Robert Moncuit Blanc de Blancs

Mesnil's chalky soils deliver Chardonnays at the pinnacle of precision and energy. The area is responsible for some of my favorite expressions of Chardonnay and Champagne.
